Nathan is aware that you'll be watching him, so I think that we're well past any pretense of privacy or anything like that. Regarding Cesar... he's not dumb. His original is highly intelligent and the copy is at least clever enough to have fooled me for two weeks. Above all, he's manipulative, so there are precautions we need to take that are a little difficult to put into words.

Try for me, anything you can give me will help in protecting him. If I'm going in blind we're all going to be at a disadvantage here. Lay it out, what do you need me to be ready to do?

Whatever he says... about me, you or himself, even if it sounds true, even if it is true, you need to be prepared to react callously. He has excuses and reasons for everything. He'll use emotion and logic to justify his actions, and a kind person can play into it very easily. Even if that person is someone he's already wronged. I need you to be ready to do anything necessary to protect yourself and Nathan. I do mean anything.

Hm, that might've been hard to do before he went and dumped holy water on my head but at this point I couldn't give two shits about what he has to say. On that note, I'm pretty good at ignoring people. I'll be careful though, and keep it in mind. Whatever he does I'm not letting him anywhere near Nathan. Just so we're on the same page: Are you giving me permission to kill him?

I couldn't hate you. I can only trust that if you kill him, that's how it had to be. If it's hard, it just means that I have to work even harder to overcome it.

Are you so sure about that? It'd be a last resort. I haven't killed anyone willfully and I'd like to keep it that way if I can. I realize I probably can't keep that up forever, but I can try. I won't make you be alone, L, you know that.
